Landmark Guidelines Raise Bar For Treatment of African Americans With High Blood Pressure

Journal of Clinical Hypertension (JCH)

These Guidelines--originally presented as "A Statement Coordinated by the Journal of Clinical Hypertension (JCH)" –were intended as an international primer with general information, especially for communities and countries with low resources. These guidelines, while endorsed by ASH based their original intent, should be considered more as "an expert opinion piece," given that they are not systematically evidence-based and were not developed using guideline development protocol stipulated by the Institute of Medicine (IOM).
