In 1998, the American Society of Hypertension, Inc. (ASH) established the ASH Hypertension Specialists Program in acknowledgment of the increasing recognition that effectively addressing the issue of hypertension necessitates collaboration between primary healthcare providers and physicians with verified proficiency in hypertension management. This program from ASH provides two distinct certifications:
- The Specialist in Clinical Hypertension certification (ASH-SCH) is designed to identify and acknowledge physicians who have demonstrated expert-level skills and comprehensive knowledge in the management of clinical hypertension and related medical conditions.
