Fellowship Announcement

The Board of Directors of the American Society of Hypertension, Inc. (ASH) is pleased to introduce a new, professional recognition program for ASH Members, designation as an ASH Fellow. The ASH Fellow designation will be conferred annually on those applicants who have distinguished themselves through excellence in their professional scientific and clinical achievements, scholarship, and significant contributions to the field of hypertension and cardiovascular health.

ASH Fellow Benefits

  • ASH Fellows are entitled to add FASH (Fellow of the American Society of Hypertension) to their professional credentials.
  • ASH Fellows are presented with a certificate of achievement and an ASH Fellow Pin attesting their status as ASH Fellows during the Fellow convocation ceremony at ASH Annual Scientific Meetings.
  • ASH Fellows are recognized at the beginning of each year in a published roster of new ASH Fellows in The Journal of Clinical of Hypertension (JCH) and the Journal of the American Society of Hypertension (JASH) , as well as on the Society website.

Becoming an ASH Fellow

Current ASH Members who have attended at least two (2) of the last four (4) ASH Annual Scientific Meetings are eligible to submit an application to become an ASH Fellow. The application process--either the Investigator Pathway or the Clinical Pathway-- involves submission of information regarding professional scientific and clinical achievements, scholarship, and significant contributions to the field of hypertension and cardiovascular health and recommendations from two (2) current ASH Fellows*. To maintain one’s status as an ASH Fellow, one needs to be a current, active ASH Member.

Two (2) Sponsor Signatures
Membership in ASH for the past three (3) years
Attendance at ASH Annual Scientific Meetings for at least two (2) out of the last four (4) meetings
Primary or Secondary Board Certification
Designated Hypertension Specialist  
Application fee of $150.00

* For 2010 applicants may submit letters of recommendation from ASH Designated Specialists in Clinical Hypertension in lieu of ASH Fellows.
