The Fourth Qualifying Hypertension Specialist Examination

In 1999 the ASH Specialist Program Inc. established the Specialist in Clinical Hypertension Designation for the purpose of identifying and recognizing physicians with expert skills and knowledge in the management of clinical hypertension and related disorders. Specialists in Clinical Hypertension are designated on the basis of:

Submission of an application documenting training and experience in hypertension and related areas
             Passing the qualifying examination

The Fourth Qualifying Hypertension Specialist Examination was administered on May 19, 2007 in Chicago, Illinois prior to the commencement of the 22nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Society of Hypertension (ASH), as well as at other sites throughout the nation.

The Fifth Qualifying Hypertension Specialist Examination is tentatively scheduled for May of 2009.
