Assessment tools and study options for preparing to take the ASH Specialist in Clinical Hypertension Examination include the following:

  • Refer to "2014 Qualifying Examination for Specialists in Clinical Hypertension" – Handbook for Candidates – see section entitled (1) Content Outline, and (2) Sample Examination Questions
  • Purchase the Virtual Clinical Review Course on the ASH website, www.ash-us.org in the "Education" section or click here. The Virtual Course is available as a DVD or by registering for a link.
  • Refer to the "ASH Core Curriculum for Clinical Hypertension" in the "Publications" section of the ASH website or click here. This 56-page Reference List is designed as a comprehensive outline and reference guide to clinical hypertension literature, and emphasizes (a) state-of-the-art scientific principles, (b) the application of those principles into daily clinical practice, and (c) evidence from randomized clinical trials that serves as the basis for current practice recommendations.
  • Take the Practice Examination, a 60 question computerized test simulating the actual examination. The practice examination covers the five content areas of the examination. For more information, please click here.
  • Register and participate in continuing education activities relating to hypertension and cardiovascular disease, e.g. ASH Annual Scientific Meeting, and other activities posted on the ASH Website and elsewhere.
