- ASSIST health care professionals in addressing the challenges of the modern-day care of patients with hypertension
- ENHANCE the education and treatment of patients with hypertension
ASH CME PROGRAM
The purpose of the American Society of Hypertension's continuing medical education (CME) program is to contribute to the Society's overall mission of promoting and encouraging the development, advancement and exchange of scientific information in all aspects of research, awareness, prevention, detection, evaluation, treatment and control of hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases to reduce their morbidity and mortality.
The CME mission of the Society is achieved by the application and implementation of ACCME Essentials and Guidelines in educational activities of the Society intended to educate and improve the clinical skills of physicians and other health care providers through various educational formats.
The increase in physicians' knowledge and clinical skills will facilitate and foster a change in their behavior leading to improvements in clinical outcomes and ultimately a reduction in the morbidity and mortality from hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases.
CME COMMITTEE MISSION
The mission of the ASH CME Committee is to maintain and enhance ASH as an ACCME Provider of Continuing Medical Education, and to review Society education activities and award CME credit, in accord with status of the Society as an ACCME approved provider of CME.
The Committee is dedicated to continuous quality improvement of educational outcomes of the ASH educational activities. This is clearly demonstrated in its continuous review to validate and improve the CME needs assessment, educational content, teaching formats, and effectiveness in achieving its mission.
