MISSION:
The CME mission facilitates the education of health care professionals on the subject of hypertension and current prevention and treatment strategies by providing quality education activities, which in turn will enhance the education and treatment of patients with hypertension. Education will assist health care professionals in addressing the challenges of the modern-day care of patients with hypertension.

The CME mission of the Society is achieved by the application and implementation of ACCME Criteria in Society educational activities, intended to educate and improve the clinical skills of physicians and other health care providers through the following educational formats:

1. Didactic Presentations

  1. Lectures (with question and answer sessions, and panel discussions)
  2. Workshops
  3. Poster presentations of new research information

2. Enduring Materials

  1. ASH Review of Clinical Hypertension
  2. Monographs
  3. Journal Supplements

3. Electronic Educational Activities

  1. web-based learning
  2. point of care learning
  3. thumbnail drive/jump drive learning

The increase in physicians’ knowledge and clinical skills will facilitate and foster a change in their behavior leading to improvements in clinical outcomes and ultimately a reduction in the morbidity and mortality from hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases.
