ASH Hypertension Community Outreach Extends outside of US Borders

Dr. Icilma Fergus-Rowe , MD, a member of the ASH Hypertension Community Outreach Committee, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, and Director, Cardiovascular Disparities Center, at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY, and Gilda Caputo-Hansen, ASH Director, Hypertension Community Outreach, will travel to the Island Of Montserrat, on August 27, 2011 – for "Blood Pressure without Borders" – a program to raise awareness of Hypertension and other cardiovascular related diseases.

Read about how this volcanic ravaged island (eruptions in 1995, and again in 2010, by its Soufriere Hills Volcano) that was nearly destroyed and about two-thirds of its population was forced to flee their homeland, learns about Hypertension.
